Book 1 in the Kara Michelson Duology
Kara Michelson has lived alone with the knowledge that ghosts have existed her whole life, but her reality is derailed when Jack Ridan, the most popular boy in high school notices her, but not before he sees the ghosts first.
Kara Michelson hates high school. She despises the fake personalities the girls strive for, and she despises the bullies. All she has ever tried to do is be kind and fit in by staying involved in as many activities as possible, but she has never been good enough.
Kara is walking into high school for the first last time at the start of her senior year. She cannot wait to be done with the dreaded days of blank stares and no one caring who she is and what she is capable of. It doesn’t help that not only is she alone at school, but also in the truth that ghosts are real. No one else can know. Seeing the dead is no help to Kara as she struggles to navigate the horrors of being a teenager.
Kara is not prepared for her world to be turned upside down when she catches Jack Ridan, the most popular boy at her school, staring at the same ghost she is. The two teens are forced into an unlikely alliance in order to understand why they, out of all people, can see the dead.
Nora Cardinal grew up in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin. She was raised in a small town but has never failed to supply big dreams. Her goal has always been to ensure that everyone around her knows they are important, no matter how big or small. She is very energetic and can be counted on to put a smile on anyone’s face. She wrote her first kids chapter book at age ten, and the sequel was self-published when she was a freshman in high school.
Nora grew up outdoors, camping, swimming, tubing, skiing, and playing with family. Her passions lie in reading, writing, dancing, acting, singing, and volleyball. Since reading has always been Nora’s escape from the real world, she started writing so that her words could help others get through the tough times in life. She is nineteen years old and wants to become an entrepreneur. Until then, she will be going to college while coaching competitive dance teams, teaching yoga, and, of course, writing.
